I choose smooth bore for interior firefighting! Why?
Because gpm’s put out btu’s! Why would I put something on the end of the hose line that basically is like putting my thumb over the end of a garden hose. It will create more pressure and even can create a good looking stream, but in th
e end my thumb increased its distance but also reduced the flow! We need reach of the water stream, return of the water back onto the items inside, and lift of the smoke by not upsetting the thermal balance when taking control of the fire environment. If you like fog nozzles, please don’t use the power cone! Straight stream only when going inside!!!
